Mosaic mural and bronze plaque mark a military memorial site

An oval-shaped bas-relief sculpture is mounted on a marble wall in what appears to be a public building. The sculpture depicts a family of three figures against a backdrop that includes a large, stylized red and blue flag, possibly symbolizing a nation. In the foreground, a man and a woman stand hand-in-hand. The woman, on the left, holds a branch with leaves in her raised right hand. She wears a flowing dress. The man, on the right, has a child perched on his shoulders, with the child's arms outstretched. The man is dressed in casual clothing. Behind the figures, a large flag is depicted with textured folds, primarily in shades of red and dark blue, with a section of red tiles forming the upper part of the flag. A stylized symbol, possibly a hammer and sickle, is visible on the red part of the flag. To the right of the family, two birds in flight are sculpted. The entire relief is set within a circular frame. The surrounding wall is covered in large, light-colored marble tiles with subtle veining.

A bronze plaque is mounted on a speckled red and white granite wall. The plaque is octagonal and framed with a raised bronze border. In the center of the plaque is a circular bas-relief depicting a seated man with a beard and a robe. To the left of the man, the year "1823" is inscribed, and to the right, the year "1886" is inscribed. Below the man's image, the name "ОСТРОВСКОМУ" (Ostrovskomu) is inscribed. Below this, a rectangular bronze plate bears the inscription "МАЛЫЙ ТЕАТР" (Maly Theater) in large, raised, sans-serif capital letters. Two decorative bronze elements extend from the sides of the octagonal plaque, appearing to be part of a larger decorative scheme. The wall surface shows faint blue graffiti in the lower left quadrant.
