A pale, whitish-pink axolotl (Ambystoma mexicanum) is partially emerging head-first from a dark, arched cave opening within an aquatic habitat. The axolotl, positioned centrally, displays its head, dark eyes, prominent feathery external gills, and two front limbs resting on the substrate. Its rear body extends into the dark interior of the cave. The cave structure is an irregular rock formation covered extensively with green moss or algae, occupying the mid-ground and background.
