An adult Egyptian Goose (Alopochen aegyptiaca) stands prominently on a green grassy bank along the Neckar River in Heidelberg, Germany, near the Ernst-Walz-Brücke
An adult Egyptian Goose (Alopochen aegyptiaca) stands prominently on a green grassy bank along the Neckar River in Heidelberg, Germany, near the Ernst-Walz-Brücke. The goose, distinguished by its mottled brown-grey plumage, a dark eye patch, and reddish-pink legs, faces right. Five smaller, downy goslings with speckled dark and white plumage are clustered behind and to the right of the adult; four are observed with their heads down, appearing to graze on the grass. The foreground features short, well-maintained green grass, with a small section of bare soil at the far left adjacent to the water. The Neckar River occupies the midground, its surface showing ripples and reflections. Across the river, the Ernst-Walz-Brücke is visible, characterized by a concrete structure adorned with multicolored graffiti along its lower section. Behind the bridge and a line of mostly bare deciduous trees, several multi-story urban buildings are present. A tall, slender church tower rises distinctly above the treeline and buildings on the far right of the background. The scene is illuminated by clear daylight.
