He holds an open book with Cyrillic text in his left hand and raises his right hand in a gesture of blessing. Flanking Christ are the Virgin Mary to his left and John the Baptist to his right, both with halos and extended hands, forming a Deesis triad. Above Christ, a scroll bears Cyrillic script.
