The scene depicts a forest floor in Mondercange, Luxembourg, characterized by a sloping terrain covered in deciduous leaf litter and several decaying tree trunks. Approximately five large fallen logs, oriented generally from the foreground to the background and slightly uphill, dominate the view. These logs are extensively covered in a thick, vibrant layer of bright green moss. Patches of the logs' weathered, dark bark and exposed wood are visible beneath and between the moss. Several clusters of light brown, shelf-like fungi are growing on the moss-covered surfaces of at least two of the foreground and mid-ground logs. The ground is uniformly covered by a dense layer of dry, brown, fallen leaves, primarily consistent with oak. Sparse, small green sprouts or low-lying vegetation emerge from the leaf litter in various areas, particularly on the right side of the frame. In the mid-ground, on the far right, the base of a standing tree trunk, also heavily covered in green moss, is partially visible. Further into the background, additional moss-covered logs and tree structures are present within the dense leaf cover. No individuals or active subjects are present.
