This is a vertical photograph depicting the upper central portion of the main facade of the Primatiale Saint-Jean-Baptiste de Lyon (Lyon Cathedral) in Lyon, France. The structure is built from light-colored, cut stone blocks, exhibiting intricate Gothic architectural details.

The central feature is a large, multi-layered pointed archway leading to the main entrance portal. Within the tympanum of this archway, a stone statue of the Madonna and Child is centrally positioned on an ornate pedestal, beneath a small, crowned canopy. Below the statue, intricate stone tracery, forming a pattern of quatrefoils and trefoils, fills the upper section of the doorway, above the dark, recessed entrance.

Above the main arch, a prominent triangular gable rises, adorned with a large, elaborate coat of arms surmounted by a crown or miter. The gable edges and surrounding architectural elements are richly carved with foliage (crockets) and geometric patterns. Higher on the facade, a large circular rose window with complex stone tracery is partially visible at the top of the frame.

Two distinct circular escutcheons displaying heraldic motifs are positioned on the facade, flanking the central gable below the rose window. Horizontal bands of repeating decorative patterns and vertical elements resembling pilasters or buttresses with small niches further embellish the stone surface. A single dark-feathered bird is perched on a decorative element located just below the rose window, to the left of the central vertical axis. The scene is illuminated by natural daylight.
