Two domestic cats are observed resting outdoors in Omurtag, Bulgaria, adjacent to a paved surface. The cat on the left is a long-haired black feline with a prominent white chest and muzzle, curled into a compact form with its head lowered. To its immediate right sits a short-haired tortoiseshell cat, exhibiting brown, orange, and black patches, also curled up with its eyes appearing closed. Both cats are positioned on a strip of dry, sparse vegetation and dirt, directly in front of a concrete curb. Behind the curb, further dry grass and plant stems are visible, along with parts of what appear to be tree trunks or wooden posts. The foreground and midground consist of a rough, pebbled asphalt or gravel surface.
