The image is a low-angle shot looking up into the canopy of a large tree. The tree's thick trunk runs horizontally across the right side of the image and its branches extend upwards and towards the left, filling much of the frame. Many of the branches are bare, with some having tiny buds. Some smaller trees, bearing fresh light-green leaves are visible in the background against a clear blue sky. The tree trunk is marked with bark patterns characteristic of a sycamore or plane tree. It appears to be very old, with a large metal nesting box, or similar structure, affixed to the trunk where a branch forks. The trunk meets with a stone wall on the right edge of the image. Judging from the plane tree and wall with foliage, the image could be taken in Ljubljana, Slovenia, in Tivoli Park, or along the Ljubljanica river.
