The scene depicts an active construction site in Fez, Morocco, under a bright blue sky with scattered white clouds. In the foreground to the left, a vertical stack of approximately 25 grey, hollow concrete blocks is neatly arranged. Adjacent to this, in the mid-ground, a large, uniform pile of grey gravel or crushed stone occupies the center-right portion of the frame. Behind these materials, the unfinished framework of a multi-story building is visible. The lower levels of the building feature extensive temporary shoring, composed of numerous irregularly spaced vertical wooden poles supporting a concrete slab. Above this slab, several reinforced concrete columns rise, with rebar exposed at their tops in preparation for further construction. Red bricks are stacked on the uppermost visible concrete slab. On the far left in the background, a yellow and black tower crane is partially visible, with a portion of its boom and counterweights extending upwards. One individual, appearing to be a construction worker in a light-colored shirt, is partially discernible on the upper level of the building structure, near the base of the crane. The ground in the immediate foreground consists of unpaved dirt with scattered gravel.
