An equestrian bronze statue of Simón Bolívar, mounted on a rearing horse, stands prominently on a rectangular pedestal made of light-colored, speckled stone in a public square in Tinaquillo, Venezuela. The figure is depicted in military attire with a flowing cape. A dark rectangular plaque affixed to the front of the pedestal bears the inscription: "SIMON JOSE ANTONIO DE LA SANTISIMA TRINIDAD BOLIVAR PALACIOS PONTE Y BLANCO NACIO EN CARACAS EL 24 DE JULIO DE 1783 MURIO EN SANTA MARTA (COLOMBIA) EL 17 DE DICIEMBRE DE 1830". The ground surrounding the pedestal consists of light-colored paving. In the middle ground, on the left side of the image, four individuals are visible. Two are seated on a low wall or bench, facing each other in apparent conversation, while another stands nearby. The background features several mature trees with green foliage under a partially overcast sky. A red-painted building with white window frames is discernible behind the people and trees on the left. A small, dark bird is perched on the upper edge of the pedestal, to the left of the horse's raised front leg.
