A single adult male mallard duck (Anas platyrhynchos) stands on a patch of uneven, sparsely vegetated ground in the city of Dolni Rakovets, Bulgaria. The duck is positioned in the center of the frame, oriented towards the right, with its head slightly lowered. Its plumage features an iridescent dark green head, a distinct white neck ring, a chestnut-brown breast, and mottled grey-brown body feathers with a dark tail.
