This image depicts an upward-sloping outdoor staircase on a hillside, characteristic of the pathways found on Marjan Hill in Split, Croatia. The staircase ascends diagonally from the lower left towards the upper right, featuring a transition in construction materials. The lower visible steps are constructed from large, irregular blocks of light-colored stone, exhibiting wear and some fracturing. Above these, approximately ten steps are visible, composed of worn, exposed-aggregate concrete, showing scattered small stones within their surfaces. A galvanized metal handrail, consisting of vertical posts and two parallel horizontal rails, is installed along the left side of the staircase, providing a continuous support structure upwards. The hillside immediately adjacent to the stairs on the right consists of loose, light-colored soil and gravel, interspersed with patches of wild green grasses, dry brown grasses, and scattered pine needles. A distinct, dense clump of vibrant green grass grows directly next to the fourth concrete step from the bottom right. Sparse, darker green foliage is visible at the top right margin of the image. The sky overhead is uniformly overcast and light grey. No individuals, animals, or discernible activities are present in the scene.
