An indoor scene in Jérica, Spain, displays a meditation altar against a plain white wall

JéricaSpain

An indoor scene in Jérica, Spain, displays a meditation altar against a plain white wall. A large, dark wooden Buddha statue is positioned centrally, seated in the full lotus position with hands in Dhyana Mudra, wearing a gold-colored robe. The statue rests on a light grey wooden pedestal with two small visible drawers. Around the lower body and arms of the Buddha are draped thin, white string lights. Behind the statue, a vibrant, large fabric Thangka painting is mounted, featuring a central standing deity figure with multiple arms surrounded by smaller figures and landscape elements in a teal/green background. This Thangka is framed by a wider border of patterned dark blue fabric. Above the Thangka, a horizontal wooden rod supports a red and an orange/gold draped fabric valance. Two long, red fabric ribbons descend vertically from this top drapery, partially overlying the Thangka painting. On the wooden pedestal, flanking the Buddha, are two cream-colored LED pillar candles, each placed on a small dark blue circular coaster. An orange fabric is loosely draped directly beneath the pedestal. On the light wood floor in the foreground, a round, braided jute rug is partially visible. A small, star-shaped grey dish containing several blue-green decorative marbles or stones rests on this rug. A white battery pack for the string lights is visible on the floor in front of the altar.
