The scene is an outdoor environment located in Santo Domingo, Venezuela. No individuals or animals are present. The lower foreground depicts a cracked, light brown and grey aggregate surface. From a fissure in the bottom left, a small plant with green, ovate leaves and two light purple, five-petaled flowers with white centers emerges. Above the foreground surface, an irregular, low rock or concrete barrier separates it from a patch of light brown, dry soil. Multiple *Catharanthus roseus* (Madagascar Periwinkle) plants are rooted in this soil, primarily in the midground and right. These plants exhibit green, ovate leaves, thin reddish-brown stems, and numerous light purple, five-petaled flowers with white centers, along with some unopened buds.
