A deceased, reddish-brown cockroach, approximately 5-7 cm in length, lies inverted on a light-colored, granular surface, likely a concrete or tiled floor. Its dorsal side is against the surface, exposing its ventral abdomen, thorax, and head. The cockroach's segmented body and six spiny legs are distinctly visible. Numerous small, dark-brown ants are actively swarming over and around the cockroach, particularly concentrated on its ventral surface, suggesting a scavenging process. Several individual ants are also scattered across the immediate surrounding surface. Shadows cast by the cockroach and ants indicate illumination from an overhead source.
