This detailed image captures a close-up, upward-angled view of the Neoclassical facade of the Kazan Cathedral (Kazansky Cathedral) in Saint Petersburg, Russia, observed during twilight or nighttime conditions. The deep blue sky occupies the upper portion of the frame.

The central and dominant feature is the building's entablature and pediment. The triangular pediment, constructed of light-colored stone, features a prominent bas-relief in its tympanum: the "Eye of Providence" (also known as the All-Seeing Eye), represented as an eye within a triangle, from which numerous straight rays emanate outwards.

Below the pediment, the entablature is elaborately decorated with multiple horizontal friezes. From top to bottom, these include a series of small, square-shaped blocks (dentils) directly beneath the pediment's raking cornice, followed by a band featuring regularly spaced, stylized rosettes or circular motifs within recessed squares. Below this, another band displays a continuous pattern of interconnected scrolls and foliage. Further down, directly above the columns, is a frieze with what appears to be an egg-and-dart or bead-and-reel molding.

Several tall, fluted columns with ornate Corinthian capitals are visible, extending vertically from the lower part of the frame. The capitals are richly detailed with sculpted acanthus leaves. The columns cast pronounced vertical shadows, suggesting artificial illumination from the front. Behind these columns, the building's wall features decorative elements, including rectangular panels and bas-reliefs depicting figures or scenes, such as a kneeling figure visible to the far right.

In the upper right corner, against the dark blue sky, the lower portion of the cathedral's large, dark-hued dome is visible, topped by a golden finial. The overall scene conveys the grandeur and intricate architectural detail of this significant Saint Petersburg landmark.
