Stake attention in this memory
This image, captured in Barakin Lerawi, Nigeria, presents an elevated view of a polluted drainage channel or waterway under natural light. The foreground features a light-colored concrete surface, upon which the dark, elongated shadow of an individual, presumably the photographer, is prominently cast. The central feature is a channel containing murky, dark water, extending from the mid-ground towards the upper frame. Along the left edge of the water, a grey, rough-hewn concrete or stone structure is visible. The right bank of the channel consists of exposed earth, heavily littered with assorted refuse, including plastic items and general debris. Above the water, a horizontal metal bar is present, heavily laden with various pieces of refuse, primarily plastic bags and fabric materials. Behind this bar, a chain-link fence spans horizontally across the upper mid-ground, also entangled with a significant accumulation of trash. Beyond the fence, a patch of green grass is visible, interspersed with small yellow flowering plants. No living individuals are depicted in the scene; the only indication of human presence is the shadow in the foreground.
