The scene depicts an outdoor environment within Sarouja Municipality, Syria. Two felines are present. In the mid-ground, a domestic cat with a calico (black, brown-orange, and white) coat is seated on grey interlocking paving stones, facing away from the viewer with its head turned to the left, looking into the distance. Its tail extends backward on the pavement, exhibiting a black tip. The cat's left rear paw, with extended claws, is visible. Adjacent to the cat's left side, a light brown tree trunk rises vertically. Surrounding the tree trunk and to the left of the paving stones is an area of dark, loose soil covered with numerous dried, narrow, light green and yellow leaves, along with some small reddish-orange debris. In the background, to the right of the tree trunk, a smaller domestic kitten with a grey, black, and white tabby coat is observed in a low, alert posture with front paws extended, facing towards the larger cat. The paving stones in the foreground and mid-ground are also scattered with similar dried leaves.
