A wide-angle landscape photograph captures a panoramic view of the Old Orhei Archaeological Complex in Butuceni, Moldova, under a clear, cloudless blue sky
A wide-angle landscape photograph captures a panoramic view of the Old Orhei Archaeological Complex in Butuceni, Moldova, under a clear, cloudless blue sky. The scene is dominated by a deep valley carved by the Răut River, which flows from the mid-left foreground towards the center-right background. The river's surface reflects the overhead sky, appearing a deep blue. On the immediate right, a prominent, steep, light-colored limestone cliff face rises vertically, covered with patches of dry, yellowish-brown grass and sparse green shrubs. A distinctive rock formation resembling a human profile is visible approximately one-third down from the top edge of this cliff. The cliff shows evidence of erosion and natural fractures. On the left side of the valley, a gentler, undulating hillside, also covered in dry, light-colored vegetation with some green patches, stretches into the distance. Along the crest of this distant hillside, a series of dark, slender utility poles are visible. The riverbanks are densely lined with a vibrant green riparian forest of deciduous trees and reeds. On the near left bank of the river, a small, light-colored wooden structure with a dark roof, possibly a hut or shed, is positioned close to the water's edge. No people or animals are present. The lighting suggests a bright, sunny day.
