The scene is set in a cemetery within Sumberejo, Indonesia. Five individuals are present. In the foreground and mid-ground, four individuals lie prone (face down) on elongated mounds of fresh earth, consistent with newly interred graves. They are dressed in black long-sleeved shirts, dark trousers, and distinctive patterned sashes or lower wraps (some checkered, some with red bands); at least one shirt displays an Indonesian flag patch on the arm. White and pink flower petals are scattered across the earth mounds around them. To the left, a fifth individual is kneeling, facing left, beside one of the prone figures. This individual wears a similar black shirt and a red and white headband, and appears to be tending to the grave mound, possibly by scattering material.
