The scene depicts a raw fish preparation area, likely in Deh Sabzi, Afghanistan. Five whole, uncleaned fish are laid out on a weathered, wet, and stained wooden surface. Three larger fish, likely carp, are positioned with one centrally at the top, and two at the bottom. These fish exhibit silver-pink scales and are approximately 40-50 cm in length. Two smaller, darker fish, resembling trout, approximately 20-25 cm long, are oriented vertically to the right of the central large fish; both show reddish coloration around their gill areas. Two knives with dark, ornate handles and metallic blades are present: one horizontally above the central large fish, and another diagonally positioned below it.
