The image displays a solitary, weathered tree stump positioned on a mixed grass and soil ground in Lokossa, Benin. The stump, centrally located, is characterized by its advanced state of decay, presenting a highly fissured and irregular surface of dried, brown and greyish wood. Multiple patches of light blue-green lichen are visible adhering to the stump's exterior, particularly prominent on its left and front-right sides. Small green plant shoots are observed growing from the top surface and at the base of the stump. The surrounding ground consists of a sparse covering of dried, light-brown grass intermingled with areas of greener vegetation and exposed soil. The background, slightly out of focus, shows more of the same patchy ground cover. No human subjects, animals, or artificial objects are present.
