The text translates to "During the fall of the Indonesian Republic, their radio communications would be interrupted by Japanese military attacks. The military and the Indonesian government was forced to relocate to another city to continue their fight."  There is also a smaller inscription in English underneath that reads "Bang Tomo was the Revolutionary Council of the Republic of Indonesia, he continued his struggle during the fall of Surabaya to Allied Forces. In the period of resistance, he commanded the guerrilla in the Avenue Dutch spices, Surabaya."  There is a light reflecting from the top of the display case, and a white wall behind it. The case rests on a white cabinet with two drawers. The room is dimly lit.  The photo shows the two men looking serious, possibly during a battle.
