The scene depicts a narrow, ascending stone alleyway within the Old Town of Kotor, Montenegro. The alley is enclosed by tall, weathered stone walls on both sides and features a series of concrete or stone steps leading upwards. Approximately twelve visibly worn steps are present in the foreground, with moss and grime accumulated in the crevices and along a concrete drainage channel running parallel to the left wall. The left wall is constructed from large, irregular stone blocks. Higher up on this wall, two small, recessed rectangular openings and two projecting stone corbels are visible. The right wall, also of stone construction, features an externally mounted air conditioning unit with a circular fan, affixed with metal brackets. A thin, dark metal handrail runs parallel to the steps on the right, secured to the wall by multiple brackets. Further up the alley, a decorative, arched metal awning, possibly white or light-colored, extends from the right wall. A thin, light-colored pipe or conduit runs vertically down the right wall near the AC unit. Beyond the initial flight of steps, the alley narrows considerably, continuing as an uneven path of natural rock and smaller stone steps, with some green vegetation present on the ground and lower sections of the walls. The upper portion of the alley is brightly lit by direct sunlight, casting shadows across the steps and lower sections of the walls. No individuals are present within the frame.
