The scene is an interior view of a commercial poultry facility located in Shuyene Vosta, Afghanistan. Multi-tiered metal wire battery cages are stacked from the foreground to the background. Numerous white-feathered chickens are densely confined within these cages. A significant number of chickens are observed lying motionless on the cage floors, with several exhibiting postures consistent with being deceased or severely distressed. Other chickens are standing or actively pecking at feed in the metal troughs running along the front of the cages. Red or orange plastic water cups are affixed to the cage fronts. Multiple white chicken eggs are visible on the sloped floors of the cages and within collection channels.
