A forensic description of an outdoor brick braai (barbecue) structure, located in Mitchells Plain, South Africa, shows a fire burning within its main rectangular opening. Vibrant orange and yellow flames consume a pile of wood pieces at the base of the firebox. The structure's exterior is composed of light greyish-brown, textured building bricks, while the interior of the firebox and the surrounding lintel are constructed from reddish-brown, smoother bricks. Visible markings on some bricks include "U.G.", "U.D.", "J.S.", and "90". A white, solidified residue streak is present on the underside of the top lintel, directly above the flames. An unseen overhead structure, possibly metallic, is partially visible at the top edge of the frame. The scene is lit by strong directional sunlight, casting shadows inside the firebox.
