This image captures a low-angle, head-on view of the former Central Post Office building (Centralposthuset) in Stockholm, Sweden, located at Vasagatan 28-34. The grand, ornate building is constructed primarily of reddish-brown brick and lighter sandstone, characteristic of the National Romantic style with Art Nouveau elements.

The facade is symmetrical and elaborately decorated. At the base, a massive arched entryway dominates the center, featuring multiple receding arch layers. Within the archway, intricate sculptural elements are visible, including a prominent central coat of arms flanked by other carvings. Above the arch, set into the sandstone, are two busts in circular niches: one on the left depicting "KONUNG OSCAR II" (King Oscar II) and one on the right depicting "DROTTNING CHRISTINA" (Queen Christina), both flanked by decorative botanical reliefs.

Above the entrance, large gold lettering spells out "KONGL. POST" (Royal Post). Below this, a smaller inscription reads: "DENNA BYGGNAD UPPFÖRDES ÅREN 1898-1903 UNDER H.M. KONUNG OSCAR II:S REGERING" (This building was erected in the years 1898-1903 under H.M. King Oscar II's reign).

Above the inscription, a projecting balcony with a detailed balustrade and a central carved emblem extends from the facade. The area beneath the balcony features three large windows framed by carved columns with leafy motifs. To either side of this central section, the building incorporates tall, rectangular windows on multiple levels, interspersed with areas of plain brickwork and decorative sandstone panels.

Two antique-style street lamps, with white spherical globes and green-patinated metal arms, are affixed to the brick sections of the building, one on each side of the central axis at a lower level. Higher up the facade, intricate details include patterned brickwork, small decorative bosses, and a triangular pediment with further carvings. The building culminates in a multi-tiered roofline with turrets and intricate stone details, partially visible against a bright, overcast sky. A few green leaves from an overhead tree branch are visible in the upper right corner of the frame. No people are visible in the scene.
