Two freshwater turtles are stacked on a light-colored, textured rock formation situated at the edge of a murky green body of water. The upper turtle, exhibiting a grey-brown carapace with visible orange and black markings along its scutes, rests on the lower turtle. Its head is fully extended towards the right of the frame, displaying yellow facial stripes. The lower turtle, possessing a darker, more uniformly black carapace with lighter outlines, has its head partially extended forward, facing the camera's perspective. Its limbs are mostly retracted beneath its shell. To the left of the lower turtle, several fragments of decaying organic matter, consistent with dried leaves, are present on the rock surface. Reflections of overhead trees or foliage are faintly visible on the water's surface.
