Two framed oil paintings, both in a surrealist or metaphysical style, hang on a plain white wall, presumably in a museum in Athens, Greece. The left painting, signed "G. de Chirico", portrays an enigmatic interior scene that opens to a classical cityscape by the sea. A draped, classical female figure, whose head is a red, mask-like form, stands and offers a violin to a seated mannequin-like figure with a pink head and a riveted silver torso. Various geometric shapes – a pyramid, cones, and a cylinder – along with several red fish, are scattered on the wooden floor. Through an open window, a calm sea and buildings with orange roofs are visible under a partly cloudy blue sky. An open green door is on the left. The right painting, also signed "G. de Chirico", depicts a vibrant outdoor coastal setting under a bright blue sky. A headless female bust, adorned with a red drape and a colorful feathered hat, stands on a grey pedestal. Beside her, a muscular, dark-skinned male figure wearing striped underwear holds a fish aloft in one hand and a black, bird-like structure with a small house in the other. Disembodied arm fragments are near his torso. The sandy ground features classical ruins, including broken columns and a miniature temple-like structure, along with an open set of shutters and a seashell. Between the paintings, a partial informational text panel for the left painting is visible, displaying "Giorgio de Chirico". A more complete text panel below the right painting clearly identifies the artist as "Giorgio de Chirico (1888-1978)".
