The deep blue sea is turbulent, with numerous white-capped waves actively breaking and generating foam as they approach the shore. In the foreground, dark brown and reddish-brown layered rock formations, partially covered with green growth, frame the bottom and right side of the image. In the mid-ground, a prominent, curved, dark grey-brown textured sea wall or pool barrier is partially submerged, with waves crashing against and over it. Behind this structure, a natural rock outcrop stands in the water, hosting several small white birds (gulls) perched upon its surface. In the distance, the tall, slender white Phare de Biarritz lighthouse is situated on a green-covered clifftop. Adjacent to the lighthouse and extending along the clifftop are various buildings, including some with distinct red roofs and larger, modern white structures.
