An outdoor procession involving numerous individuals, identified as Buddhist monks by their orange robes (kāsāya), is depicted in Oshojetban, Nepal
An outdoor procession involving numerous individuals, identified as Buddhist monks by their orange robes (kāsāya), is depicted in Oshojetban, Nepal. The scene is observed from a slightly elevated, rear-left perspective. The monks are arranged in multiple parallel rows, walking generally away from the camera on a light-brown paved surface composed of rectangular blocks. Most participants are barefoot; a few wear sandals. Many carry cylindrical, dark-brown cloth bags over their left shoulders, some showing a light-colored base. In the mid-ground, a monk in the second row from the right, wearing glasses, extends his right hand to lightly touch the upper back of the monk directly in front of him. The procession converges towards a prominent, large golden statue of a standing figure, resembling a young Siddhartha Gautama with his right arm raised, positioned centrally at the far end of the paved area. A line of green trees and foliage forms a distant horizon behind the statue and the procession. The sky is uniformly light grey and overcast. In the far background on the right, several individuals not in monastic attire are visible, some appearing to hold cameras or phones. A partially visible individual in a white shirt and face mask is present on the far left. Two tall, dark poles are situated on either side of the paved area in the mid-ground. A small, dark, indistinct object is visible in the upper sky.
