The image depicts a tranquil river scene within a karst landscape in Tây Hoa Lư Ward, Vietnam, viewed from the stern of a small boat. In the immediate foreground, the backs of two individuals are visible. The person on the left wears an orange life vest over a dark green patterned garment and a traditional Vietnamese conical hat (nón lá) with a reddish-orange trim. The person on the right wears an orange life vest and a wide-brimmed khaki sun hat with a green band. Between them, on the light-colored bamboo slat floor of the boat, lie two folded green umbrellas. The boat is positioned on a calm, green waterway, where ripples are visible on the surface. Further ahead on the river, at least four other similar small boats are observed, each carrying passengers, all equipped with orange life vests, with some boats being actively rowed. To the left, a gently sloped, patterned paved embankment meets the water, bordered by dense green trees and foliage on a grassy bank. The background is dominated by towering, steep limestone karst mountains. A massive mountain face, densely covered in green vegetation and trees, occupies the right side of the frame, rising sharply towards a partly cloudy sky with patches of blue. A smaller, tree-covered mountain peak is visible in the distance on the left.
