An open, triangular-framed wooden structure, approximately 50 meters offshore, is situated in the dark, choppy waters of Lake Victoria near Kisumu, Kenya, under an overcast sky. The structure consists of numerous vertical wooden poles supporting a skeletal, gable-roof framework of horizontal and diagonal wooden beams. Approximately 30-40 birds, predominantly large white and grey wading birds resembling storks, egrets, and possibly pelicans, are perched on all levels of the wooden framework. One prominent bird stands on one leg at the highest point of the structure's left side. A tangled fishing net or debris hangs from the mid-left section of the framework. A faint line of distant land or vegetation is visible on the horizon, separating the lake from the light-grey, cloudy sky.
