The image displays a coastal scene on an overcast day in Zelenogradsk, Russia. The upper third of the frame consists of a uniform light grey sky, meeting a distinct horizon line. The sea, appearing in shades of grey-green, exhibits moderate wave action with multiple breaking waves generating white foam. Several dark, wooden groynes extend perpendicularly from the shore into the water. The most prominent groyne is positioned in the lower foreground and middle ground, constructed from numerous vertical dark wooden pilings. Many of these pilings are partially submerged and coated with dark green organic growth. Approximately two additional groynes are visible further out to sea on the right side of the frame. Waves are observed actively breaking against these structures, creating foam and turbulence. A strip of light brown, wet sand forms the immediate foreground, particularly on the right, where the water's edge recedes with foamy residue. The scene is devoid of human presence or activity.
