The image displays a processing area within a traditional tannery, located in the medina of Tétouan, Morocco. The scene is an enclosed, partially concrete or stone structure featuring rough, stained walls and a wet, dark brown, muddy ground pit. Overhead, a collection of animal hides and raw leather pieces, in varying shades of beige, brown, and black, are suspended from an unseen fixture, presumably for drying or curing.
