The image displays the Middle Gate (Bab-üs Selâm) of Topkapı Palace in Istanbul, Turkey. The imposing archway is constructed from light grey, possibly marble, stonework. Above the main arch, an intricate golden calligraphic inscription against a dark background fills the tympanum. Below this, a rectangular panel contains further golden Arabic script within a marble frame. Centrally positioned above the arch opening is an oval, dark green plaque featuring a golden Ottoman tughra. Two circular medallions with golden calligraphy are set into the marble walls on either side of the arch. A dark, likely green, wooden door is partially visible within the left side of the arch's entrance, appearing slightly ajar. The interior of the passage features brick vaulting. Beyond the primary archway, a subsequent arch leads to an outdoor area with bare trees visible against a light, overcast sky. Several individuals are partially visible at the bottom of the frame, including a person in a black beanie on the far left, and two females further right, positioned near the entrance of the gate.
