This image captures a historical public fountain or spring structure situated in Dobri dial, Bulgaria
This image captures a historical public fountain or spring structure situated in Dobri dial, Bulgaria. The central object is a weathered, multi-sectioned stone column-like structure, exhibiting extensive water staining and moss growth. A rectangular bronze plaque is affixed to the central column. It displays Cyrillic text, bracketed by a red crescent and a red cross symbol at the top, and a red cross at the bottom. The inscription translates to: "BUILT by Rastyah Pasha in the 15th century," "RESTORED by Yordan G. Peev and the residents of Dolni Varshintsi in 1977," and "RENEWED by Yordan G. Peev in 2017." At the base of the structure, three metal spouts continuously discharge water into individual, shallow, rectangular concrete basins. These basins show discoloration from algae and mineral deposits, and the water flows from them into a larger, darker channel partially visible at the bottom of the frame. The environment includes a stone-block wall to the left, partially whitewashed, and sections of a green metal railing in the upper left and right. Strong diagonal shadows are cast across the fountain, indicating direct sunlight. No individuals or animals are present in the scene.
