The fortress is carved into a massive, sheer cliff face. The cliff is a light tan color, with dark grey and black bands of rock near the top. The rock is layered and weathered, with numerous crevices, hollows, and formations that suggest a history of erosion. On the left side of the image, a dense green tree with a dark trunk grows from the lower slope of the cliff. A metal railing and stairs are visible leading up the rocky slope towards the base of the cliff, disappearing into a large cavern or opening in the rock. There are additional railings and steps visible further up the cliff face. Near the bottom right of the image, a large, dark informational sign is mounted on a metal post. Another, smaller sign is visible on the rocky slope to the left. The ground in the foreground is a paved road. The overall impression is one of rugged natural beauty and historical significance.
