The image displays the Monument to the Soviet Army in Sofia, Bulgaria, under a clear blue sky with minimal cloud cover. The central feature is a tall, tapering stone obelisk, bearing a faint star emblem on its lower section and illuminated by direct sunlight on its upper right face. At the base of the obelisk are three prominent bronze statues depicting figures, one with a raised clenched fist. Below these statues, and extending laterally along the monument's base, are multiple bronze relief panels depicting soldiers and civilians in various poses. The concrete and stone surfaces of the monument's base and surrounding retaining walls are heavily defaced with red and black spray-painted graffiti, including text in Cyrillic, "SS" symbols, and other markings. Some legible text includes "TAKЪВ E РЕДЪТ" (Such is the order) and "БОЯН" (Boyan). In the foreground, a set of wide concrete steps leads up towards the monument. Several individuals are present on and around these steps. A person with dark hair in a bun, wearing a black jacket, is partially visible in the bottom left, facing away from the viewer. To the right, a young man in a plaid shirt and a young woman in dark clothing walk down the steps, appearing to converse. Further right, the back of a young man in a white hooded sweatshirt is visible. On the monument's lower platform, several small groups of people are seated or standing; approximately five individuals are to the left of the central statues, and four to the right. One person stands closer to the base of the obelisk on the right side. Bare deciduous trees are visible to the left of the monument, while evergreen trees border the right side, suggesting a late autumn or winter setting. The sunlight casts shadows, indicating a low sun angle.
