An adult male Indian peafowl (peacock) stands prominently in the center of the frame, facing slightly right with its head turned toward the viewer. Its head and upper neck are iridescent blue, featuring a small crest and a distinct white patch around the eye. The chest is also iridescent blue, transitioning to a brown and bronze color on the lower body and grey-brown on the wings. Its lengthy, iridescent green and blue covert tail feathers trail along the ground behind it. The bird's legs are pale tan/grey, scaly, and end in visible taloned feet. The ground beneath the bird consists of sparse green grass intermixed with areas of exposed soil and dirt. Strong sunlight casts distinct shadows across the ground.
