The primary subject is a weathered, diamond-mesh chain-link fence extending across the entire vertical and horizontal span of the frame. The fence is supported by two visible, greyish concrete or wooden posts; one is partially seen on the left foreground, and another is positioned in the midground, closer to the center. The top edge of the fence is secured to a dark, horizontally oriented wooden beam, exhibiting visible grain, cracks, and patches of light green and yellow lichen. Metal staples or wire loops, shaped like inverted 'V's, are affixed along the top of this beam. A dark, circular object or bolt head is visible in a drill hole on the top beam, slightly left of center. Near the bottom of the frame, another similar weathered wooden beam lies horizontally on the ground, also showing lichen growth. Beyond the fence, a light brown dirt road traverses horizontally across the midground. Adjacent to the road, green grass and various wild plants cover the ground. In the background, two rural structures are present: a greyish building with a dark, possibly corrugated or shingled roof is situated behind the flowering shrub, and a smaller, dark wooden structure or shed is partially visible on the far right, beyond the apple tree. Utility poles with overhead lines are faintly visible in the far background. The sky overhead is heavily overcast with grey clouds, with some brighter patches suggesting diffuse light conditions.
