An elevated view depicts an outdoor communal cooking scene in Chaman City Tehsil, Pakistan. Approximately 18-20 individuals, predominantly men dressed in traditional shalwar kameez and various headwear, are present. At least eleven large, lidded metal cauldrons are positioned over individual open wood or charcoal fires on an uneven dirt ground surface. In the foreground, one man is seated, peeling red onions next to a metal tray filled with onions and discarded onion peels on the ground. Further back, another man in light-colored clothing uses a long metal ladle to stir the contents of one cauldron. Several men are seated cross-legged on a rectangular red rug positioned centrally, some appearing to converse, with small glasses and a tray containing granular material visible on the rug. Yellow plastic jerrycans and red plastic buckets are scattered throughout the cooking area. The scene is enclosed by unplastered, light-brown or beige mud walls, featuring at least two dark doorways.
