The image displays a scene on a body of rippled water in Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg. In the mid-left foreground, a male mallard duck floats, characterized by an iridescent green head, a bright yellow bill, and a white neck ring above its grey and white body. To its lower right, partially obscured, is a female mallard duck with mottled brown plumage and a darker bill. Both ducks face towards the right. In the background, a large, irregular mass of light-colored, possibly synthetic sheet material, such as a tarp, is partially submerged. This material is crumpled, exhibiting some reddish-brown discoloration, and forms a dark, hollow, pipe-like opening on its left side. A thin, leafless branch extends from the upper part of this mass. To the right of the large debris, a smaller, dark, U-shaped metallic object, possibly a bracket or handle, protrudes from the water. Several other small, dark protrusions, appearing to be sticks or debris, are scattered in the water.
