The image depicts a devastated urban street scene in Khan Yunis, Palestinian Territory, under a clear blue sky. In the foreground, viewed from an elevated perspective, a wide, paved road with white lane markings and a white arrow indicator runs horizontally across the frame. Both sides of the road are strewn with concrete debris and rubble. To the left, a multi-story residential building, light-colored with balconies, shows significant structural damage, including missing sections of walls and exposed interiors. Laundry hangs on some intact balconies. A mural is visible on the ground floor. Dominating the mid-ground is a severely damaged mosque with its minaret largely intact but the main structure partly collapsed, exposing interior sections and large piles of rubble around its base. Adjacent to the mosque, further buildings are also heavily damaged or reduced to rubble. Approximately ten individuals are visible on the street and sidewalks. Several people walk in groups of two or three; one individual in a black long-sleeved shirt and dark pants walks alone on the road, while others are on the sidewalks or near the central area of destruction. On the right side of the road, near the foreground, there are at least two temporary structures or stalls made of white tarpaulin, one bearing Arabic script. Overhead, multiple black electrical or utility wires crisscross the sky. In the background, beyond the immediate destruction, more multi-story buildings, some appearing less damaged, line the distant streets. Large piles of sorted rubble are visible in open areas.
