The lower half of the chick's body and the remaining portion of the eggshell are still visible as blank black outlines, indicating that these parts would be completed by further dot-to-dot connections if the sequence were longer, or are intended for free-hand coloring. At the top left of the sheet, instructional text is visible in red, capital letters: "СВЪРЖИ ТОЧКИТЕ И МЕ ОЦВЕТИ!", which translates from Bulgarian to "Connect the dots and color me!". A small portion of a dark pen cap or marker is faintly visible in the bottom left corner of the original image.
