monument to Musa Jalil, a Tatar poet and Soviet resistance fighter, located in Kokshetau, Kazakhstan. The monument consists of a bronze bust of Jalil atop a black granite pedestal. A plaque on the pedestal bears his name in both Russian and Kazakh, as well as his birth and death years, 1906-1944. The monument is surrounded by a low, black wrought-iron fence with chain links. Flowers have been placed at the base of the monument. The backdrop includes a multi-story brick building and trees with green leaves. A paved walkway runs along the right side of the image.
