A deceased porcupinefish is observed on a sandy beach in Kuta, Indonesia. The fish, approximately 30-40 cm in length, is partially submerged in light brown sand. Its body is adorned with numerous cream-colored, sharp spines, many of which are coated with a fine layer of sand and exhibit signs of wear or partial breakage. The integument displays a dark grey and black mottled pattern, with distinct dark spots visible on its ventral surface. Several small, white, spiral-shelled marine organisms, possibly barnacles or juvenile gastropods, are affixed to the right lateral aspect of the fish. In the blurred background, two human figures are standing on the sand; one is dressed in white attire, and the other in darker clothing. Faint outlines of wooden boat structures are discernible further along the distant shoreline. The scene is illuminated by ambient daylight.
