The image presents a nighttime street-level view of the Monument to Saints Cyril and Methodius, located in a public square in front of the National Library of Bulgaria "St. St. Cyril and Methodius" and the Sofia University Rectorate in Sofia, Bulgaria. In the midground, the central subject is a large, dark-colored bronze statue depicting two figures in long robes, viewed from behind, standing on a prominent light-grey rectangular stone pedestal. The figures face towards the right side of the frame. Surrounding the monument base is a low, green, trimmed hedge forming geometric patterns, with small purple and yellow flowering plants visible within the enclosed garden beds. A brown wooden park bench is partially visible in the bottom foreground. To the left of the monument, a large building with classical architectural elements, including columns and multiple windows, is partially illuminated by warm-toned uplighting, identifying it as the National Library of Bulgaria. To the right of the monument, a distinct red-brick building with numerous arched windows and lighter decorative trim, identified as the Sofia University Rectorate, is also illuminated. A tall, dark street light pole stands to the right of the monument, emitting a bright, warm-toned light. Strands of small, warm-colored string lights are strung diagonally across the upper midground, appearing to connect between trees or poles. Bare deciduous tree branches are silhouetted against the dark, clear night sky above the buildings and monument. Several indistinct figures are visible in the background, near the base of the Sofia University Rectorate. The scene is entirely illuminated by artificial light sources.
