This image depicts a long, illuminated underground pedestrian passage, identified as the underpass connecting the Serdika II metro station to the Serdika I metro station and Tsarigradsko shose Boulevard, located beneath the Presidency building in Sofia, Bulgaria. The scene is presented from a low, eye-level perspective looking directly down the length of the tunnel, creating a vanishing point in the far distance. The floor consists of square tiles arranged in alternating blocks of terracotta red and pale yellow/beige, forming a checkerboard pattern. A thin, horizontal metallic strip is visible across the foreground of the central tiled path. A small piece of white litter, possibly paper, rests on a red tile in the immediate foreground. The passage is flanked on both sides by stationary moving walkways (travelators) featuring transparent glass balustrades and silver-colored metal handrails and bases. The walls above the travelators are covered in light-colored, possibly off-white or beige, textured tiles, exhibiting reflections from the overhead lighting. The ceiling features a central flat, light beige section. This central section is bordered on both sides by angled panels, predominantly blue, which house a series of uniformly spaced, square-shaped, recessed light fixtures. These fixtures emit a bright, cool-toned white light, providing comprehensive illumination throughout the passage and creating reflections on the smooth surfaces. Three indistinct human figures are visible in the far distance, appearing small due to the perspective. One figure appears to be on the central tiled path, another slightly further back and to the right, and a third, fainter figure even further into the passage. No specific actions or interactions between these individuals are discernible. The passage appears otherwise unoccupied.
