A large, arched Gothic stained-glass window is depicted from an interior perspective within the Cathédrale Saint-Pierre de Beauvais, France
A large, arched Gothic stained-glass window is depicted from an interior perspective within the Cathédrale Saint-Pierre de Beauvais, France. The window features multiple vertical lancets surmounted by intricate stone tracery, including a central circular rose window and three smaller quatrefoil elements. The stained glass consists of numerous small, colored panes in a mosaic pattern, primarily blue, green, yellow, and orange. Two human figures are visible within the lower half of the stained glass: a standing figure in a dark, possibly brown, habit in a left-central lancet, and a kneeling figure in a white habit with hands clasped in prayer in a right-central lancet, positioned against a green background. The surrounding interior architecture is characterized by dark, rough-hewn stone block walls and visible ribbed vaulting in the upper left. A section of a large stone column is present on the far left. The stained glass is brightly illuminated, indicating an external light source, while the surrounding stone interior remains in shadow. A small, arched recess is cut into the lower left stone wall, and an indistinct, dark object is partially visible on the floor in the lower right.
